UPDATE: NYC Port Authority Reopened After 'Suspicious Package'
On the day before Thanksgiving — the busiest travel day of the year.

UPDATE, 7:20 p.m.: The NYPD has given the “all clear.” Streets and bus terminal entrances have reportedly been reopened. ”There was never a package inside the terminal, and there was no evacuation,” a spokesman for the Port Authority told Patch.
Original story:
Police swarmed the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday evening after they received reports of a suspicious package in the area.
“We’re investigating a suspicious package,” an NYPD spokesman told Patch just after 7 p.m.
Contrary to some reports, the police spokesman said no portion of the Port Authority had been evacuated in response to the threat. FOX New York reported that “two entrances were closed as a precaution.”
Eighth Avenue between 41st and 42nd Streets was also reportedly blocked off while police investigated.
