Bring Your Dog to the Movies at Fort Greene Park

Alamo Drafthouse is sponsoring three free movie nights this summer, and dogs are welcome to the May 27th's showing of "Best in Show."

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — In anticipation of its new City Point location opening this summer, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is sponsoring three free upcoming movie nights in Fort Greene Park.

The movies will role at sundown on May 27, June 3 and June 10 (the sun sets at about 8:20 p.m. on all three days). Here's the schedule:

According to film industry news site Indiewire, guests are welcome to bring their dogs to Best in Show, as well as participate in a just-for-fun dog show before the film. Plus, props will be given out prior to Labyrinth, with audience participation encouraged during the movie.

The screen will be set up on the Myrtle Avenue lawn, closest the park's entrance at the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and N. Portland Avenue.

A DJ will play music for 30 minutes before each showtime, according to the Fort Greene Park Conservancy, though the set list is still being determined.
