BROOKLYN NAVY YARD, NY — The artisan-ification of the Brooklyn Navy Yard will reach new heights in 2018, the Wall Street Journal reported over the weekend, when one of Brooklyn's most celebrated local breweries re-locates its headquarters — complete, of course, with a rooftop garden — to a 75,000-square-foot plot within Building 77 at Clermont and Flushing avenues.
Marvel Architects, with direction from the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation, is currently in the process of turning Building 77, 1 million square feet in total, into the "entry point for the Navy Yard."

According to the Journal, Brooklyn Brewery's presence in the building will include offices, a manufacturing area, a full-scale pub and a rooftop beer garden.

"Visitors will be able to grab a beer and view the brewery production from the glass walls lining the ground-floor food hall, take a tour of the production facilities or go to the roof, where the beer garden will offer views of the waterfront," the paper reported.
The brewery has, up to now, been headquartered at North 11th Street and Wythe Avenue in northwest Williamsburg, near McCarren Park.
Steve Hindy, one of the brewery's co-founders, told the Journal the Williamsburg location will remain in operation until at least 2025, when its lease is up. And even after that, Hindy reportedly "hopes to maintain a retail space or potentially a brewpub at that location."
