UPDATES: Spike Lee's 'She's Gotta Have It' Remake to Film Along Fort Greene Place

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — Neighborhood treasure Spike Lee has been wasting no time casting and filming the (insanely anticipated) 10-episode Netflix remake of "She's Gotta Have It," his 1986 classic about a Brooklyn-based 20-something balancing three flings with three very different types of men.

Lee said he filmed the original in just 12 days, "way back in the back back of the hot summer of 1985 for a mere total of $175,000."

On the set of this Fall 2016 remake, the air is a little colder and his budget a little higher. But as Lee noted when the Netflix deal was announced, the film's central plot — about an art chick coming into adulthood on the streets of Brooklyn — is just as relevant today as three decades ago.
