CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Police released new photos Tuesday of three men and one woman suspected to be involved in the fatal September shooting of Carey Gabay, a beloved Clinton Hill resident, soon-to-be father and former legal counsel to Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

The men in the photos (see above) are all believed to be between 25 and 30 years old, police said. Two of them appear to be the same individuals in fuzzy surveillance video released by police in late September, and the third resembles a police sketch released immediately after the shooting.

This is the first we've seen of the female suspect, though. Police believe her to be between 18 and 20 years old.

Gabay, 43, was shot in the head on Sept. 7 following pre-parties for the annual West Indian Day Parade in Brooklyn.

He had been walking down Bedford Avenue between Sullivan Place and Montgomery Street with friends around 3:40 a.m., police said, when gunfire erupted in front of 1680 Bedford Avenue.

Detectives immediately suspected the bullets had been fired by members of rival gangs.

According to the New York Times, the bullet that hit Gabay was one of nearly 30 bullets that sprayed a crowd of revelers. Gabay ducked behind a car, the Times reported, but was struck by a bullet in the top of his head.

Gabay died days later, on Sept. 16, surrounded by devastated family members at Kings County Hospital.

In a eulogy posted online by his family, he was remembered for his "jovial nature, generosity of spirit and an enduring smile."

From the eulogy:

Carey, 43, epitomized the American story. A son of Jamaican immigrants, he rose from public housing in the Bronx to graduate from Harvard University and Harvard Law School. He dedicated himself to public service, serving as an assistant counsel to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and most recently as First Deputy Counsel for the Empire State Development Corporation, the state’s chief economic development agency.

Gov. Cuomo likewise delivered a eulogy at his former aide's funeral, calling the Sept. 7 murder "one of the most tragic, pointless examples of the rampant violence that is spreading like a cancer through our society." Cuomo reportedly said at the funeral that it was time "to take a stand" on gun control.

The NYPD, the mayor's office, and Crime Stoppers have jointly issued a $22,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Gabay's death.
