Chick-Fil-A Opening First Brooklyn Location Near Barclays Center

The controversial fast food joint is opening its first Brooklyn location, city records show.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN -- Chick-fil-A, a southern chain restaurant known for its owner's controversial opposition to same-sex marriage, is opening its first Brooklyn location, city records show.

The seventh Chick-fil-A in New York City is slated to open at 166 Flatbush Ave. near the Barclays Center, city property records show.

The fried chicken chain restaurant opened its first New York City in 2015, years after president and COO Dan Cathy sparked a national outcry when he spoke out against same-sex marriage on a radio talk show.

The news sparked boycotts, LGBT kiss-ins and a music video about drag queens enjoying Chick-fil-A and the pleasure of some men friend's company at the same time.

Chick-fil-A confirmed to the Real Deal that they are pursuing a Brooklyn location but added the company is still “early in the process.”
