Choose Which Fort Greene and Clinton Hill Projects Will Get City Funding
The city's participatory budgeting process allows residents to vote to fund their favorite neighborhood projects.

BROOKLYN, NY — Participatory budgeting is a fancy term for something relatively simple: If your New York City Council district participates in the process, you get to vote on which neighborhood improvement projects you deem worthy of your taxpayer dollars.
The city has put together this list of participating City Council districts.

If you don't know which district you live in, just use this online tool to figure it out.
Projects eligible for funding vary depend on the district you live in; all district-specific projects are arranged geographically on this website.

While voting week runs from March 26 through April 3, polling dates, times and locations depend on your district.
More information on projects and voting can be found below.
You do not have to be a registered voter to participate. Anyone age 14 and up can vote. You should bring an ID, a utility bill or some other form of documentation that states your address with you to the polls.
One additional note: All residents can vote for their favorite projects at Borough Hall, located at 209 Joralemon Street, from March 28 - April 1. Polls will be open from 10 a.m. - 5:00 p.m on those days.
If you live in any of the neighborhoods listed above, you may be represented in the City Council by Laurie Cumbo, who heads District 35. Below, you'll find a list of voting times, dates and locations for that district. You should contact Ms. Cumbo's office with additional questions.
A project expo will take place on March 29 at P.S. 532 New Bridges, located at 1025 Eastern Pkwy., from 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Residents can vote for as many as five projects from the list of those eligible for funding.
