Fat Stash of Guns, Ammo Discovered in Brooklyn Housing Project: Cops

Three residents of Fort Greene's Ingersoll Houses were hoarding pistols and hundreds of rounds of ammunition in their apartment, police say.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — Local police announced Thursday morning that they'd discovered three pistols and hundreds of rounds of ammunition (and a small amount of weed) stashed in Fort Greene's public Ingersoll Houses, near Downtown Brooklyn, the morning prior.

According to the NYPD, the Wednesday-morning weapons raid at an apartment in 330 Hudson Walk was carried out by a "Patrol Borough Brooklyn North Field Intelligence team consisting of Sergeant Florencio Arquer, Sergeant David Cheesewright, Police Officer Thaddeus Grandstaff, Detective Lawrence Hotaling and Police Officer Andrew Kamna."

Here's what cops allegedly found in the apartment:

  • A 9 mm Uzi machine pistol
  • A .380 caliber Hi-Point pistol
  • An air pistol
  • 100 rounds of .380 caliber ammunition
  • 100 rounds of 9mm ammunition
  • 21 assorted live rounds
  • A 9mm magazine
  • 5.5 Ounces of Marijuana

The alleged residents of the apartment — 59-year-old Frantz Pierre, 33-year-old Rael Hines and 21-year-old Jamel Hines — have all been arrested and charged with criminal possession of a machine gun and criminal possession of a loaded firearm, according to the NYPD.

The younger Hines has also been charged with criminal possession of marijuana, police said.
