Dr. Know, Bad Brains Guitarist, on Life Support: Reports
The legendary punk guitarist played in Queens over the summer.

Just a few months after bringing the house down with the Foo Fighters at Queens’ Citi Field stadium (see below), Bad Brains guitarist Dr. Know, real name Gary Miller, is reportedly clinging to life in a hospital bed.
“The Bad Brains family ask that you please keep Gary (Dr. Know) Miller in your thoughts and prayers,” the band wrote on its official Facebook page Tuesday afternoon. “The family respectfully ask that their privacy be honored during this time and very much appreciate all the great energy that is being sent their way.”
Bad Brains have been fan favorites at Downtown Brooklyn’s Afropunk Fest in past years.
The Dean Ween Group wrote on its Facebook page Monday: “Pray for him, or at least smoke a huge spliff and keep him in your thoughts. One of my fave guitarists of the era — and always.”
