Elton John's Farewell Tour Includes 4 NYC Shows

The singer-songwriter announced he will perform three shows at Madison Square Garden this year and one at the Barclays Center next year.

FORT GREENE, NY — The famed singer-songwriter Elton John will bring his farewell tour to the city with three dates at Madison Square Garden and one at the Barclays Center before he retires from the stage.

John's final worldwide tour, "Farewell Yellow Brick Road," will stop at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 18, Oct. 19 and Nov. 8. The singer will return one last time to the city with a show at the Barclays Center on March 8, 2019.

After nearly 50 years of touring, the award-winning musician announced this week that he would retire from performing live shows to spend more time with his family.

"After the tour finishes, I’m very much looking forward to closing off that chapter of my life by saying farewell to life on the road," John said in a statement. "I need to dedicate more time to raising my children."

The "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour will make 300 stops around the world before the singer takes his final bow in 2021.
