FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — From a Thanksgiving baking class, to tours of the Yard's historic buildings, the Brooklyn Navy Yard has packed the fall season with events and activities for everyone.

The Yard announced a full calendar of public events for the next few months, including art installations, a peak at the campus's tenants and workshops in everything from welding to baking pies.

“We are excited to once again open our doors for New Yorkers to come and experience the unique community at the Yard and to participate in the exciting lineup of events,” Yard President David Ehrenberg said.“This fall, we invite our neighbors of all ages and backgrounds to find out more about the innovative work happening along our waterfront.”

The Yard will open up to the public on Saturday, Oct. 19 for Open House New York Weekend (OHNY Weekend). Visitors can get to know tenants — including shoemakers, a furniture company and a slate of artists and designers — and take a look at exhibits and installations, like a new mural or an interactive pong game. This year there will be a free shuttle service for the event from Fulton Street and Lafayette Avenue (near the G stop and steps from Atlantic Terminal).

Celebrations of Manufacturing

A specific line-up of events in October will honor the manufacturing industry, including a National Manufacturing Day celebration called Inside Industries: Interiors and Fabricators Tour on Oct. 4. The Yard will also celebrate Made in NYC (MINYC) Week from Oct. 3 to 18. At the end of those two weeks, the public can come to Factory Friday on Oct. 18 for tours of IceStone, Justin Paul Inc, Scott Jordan Furniture, SITU Fabrication and Transmitter Brewing, a partnership of MINYC Week and Open House New York.

Holiday Market

The 2019 Holiday Market at the Yard will feature a create-your-own section this year and more food and beverage options for lunch onsite or to take home for later. Over 30 vendors will join the annual market.
