FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — A Fort Greene restaurant is one of the top go-to spots for food in the city this year, according to Eater.

Miss Ada on Dekalb Avenue was given a shout-out in the food outlet's "Top Restaurant Standbys of 2019" list, put out on Thursday.

It was one of three restaurants added to the list by Chris Gayomali, a GQ site editor and one of about 20 Eater staff or "friends of Eater" that the outlet asked to rank their regular favorites.

Miss Ada, opened a few years ago near Fort Greene Park, is described as "Mediterranean with a twist," according to an October profile in the New Yorker. It is owned by Tomer Blechman, who is also the chef, and has been behind other restaurants like Bar Bolonat, Gramercy Tavern and Maialino.

Gayomali's other top picks in Brooklyn included GNY Noodletown and Moloko in Bed-Stuy, where he said the "smashy happy hour cheeseburger is real good when you’re in the mood."

The borough also got shout-outs from Amanda Mull, a staff writer at The Atlantic, who praised Carroll Gardens' Wingbar, Barboncino Pizza in Crown Heights and Chuko Ramen in Prospect Heights.

The borough's eats also earned a spot on Eater Editor in Chief Amanda Kludt's list, who said she often ended up at Prospect Heights wine bar LaLou and Fulton Street American eatery Otway.

Italian restaurant Fausto, Bed-Stuy Caribbean spot A&A Bake Doubles and Roti and Greenpoint Polish joint Karczma also made the round-up.

The list is part of Eater's annual ritual of looking back on the year with some the city's top food writers. It is one of several questions the food outlet asked the group of food critics that will be published during the final week of the year.
