Fort Greene Park Ballet Performance Postponed

The Bardos Ballet's scheduled Friday performance on the Fort Greene Park Steps has been moved to Manhattan's Martha Graham Studio due to the weather.

The Bardos Ballet's scheduled Friday performance on the Fort Greene Park Steps has been moved to Manhattan's Martha Graham Studio due to the weather.

"We are sad enough about the change that we've planned to add an extra performance at, you guessed it, Fort Green Park on June 1," a member of the company told Patch. "We love it there so much [and] hope the weather will accommodate us finally."

The steps were to serve as the backdrop to the ballet's latest piece, Burrows.

Cynthia Anne Stanley, choreography and founder of Bardos Ballet, told Patch this was going to be the first time the ballet performed in Fort Greene Park.

"I chose it because I have long considered this park a hidden gem of city parks," she said. "It is a beautiful, diverse and intimate community park. The monument and dramatic stairway [and] crypt has always lured me as an amazing performance space."

For those who had their hearts set on seeing the ballet perform this evening, Martha Graham Studio is located at 316 East 63rd St., in Manhattan. The show will still go on at 7 p.m., and is still free.
