Fort Greene Park Gets Its Own "Stoop"
Festival looks to create a place for people to meet, relax and tell stories this weekend.

The stoops of Fort Greene aren't just a depository for the ubiquitous Chinese menus, discarded bulk mail or the occasional flowerpot.
In our neighborhood, the top of the steps is a stage, a lookout—and, above all—a meeting place.
That's what the people behind The Stoop 2011 hope to recreate on the north side of Fort Greene Park at N. Portland Avenue on Saturday, featuring NYC hip hop talent Mickey Factz and (wait for it...) egg races.

The relaxing, yarn-spinning and table-turning begins at 2 p.m. and lasts until 7 p.m.
