Fort Greene Park became the 18th park in the five boroughs to receive free WiFi service on Thursday, joining an increasing number of public spaces to receive Internet service via a partnership between city agencies and wireless providers.
The greenspace joins other free WiFi locations in the borough, including Herbert Von King Park in Bed-Stuy and McCarren Park in Greenpoint.
"This initiative has been a huge success and we’re thrilled that visitors to New York City’s most popular parks can stay connected all year round," said Tom DeVito, New York-New Jersey vice president and general manager for AT&T, the company providing the WiFi service.

According to a press release, the Parks Department will post signs in Fort Greene Park notifying residents and visitors.
Still unclear was whether the WiFi signal covered the entire 30 acres of the park. According to AT&T, the service will be centered at the park's Visitor's Center.
