Fort Greene's 300 Ashland To Get Small Whole Foods
It's called '365 By Whole Foods,' a smaller concept store that will offer ready-made meals as well as fresh groceries and beer.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — Fort Greene's massive 300 Ashland 35-story luxury apartment building is getting a new 365 By Whole Foods, a smaller concept of the grocery store, set to open in early 2018, the building's developer Two Trees announced Friday. The store will be smaller than a normal Whole Foods and will offer ready-to-eat meals and snacks, as well as fresh fruits and veggies, meats, seafood, cheese and beer.
Three hundred Ashland, which opened to residents in the summer of 2016, is right smack dab in the middle of Fort Greene, near the park, Barclays Center and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Two Trees is still adding features to 300 Ashland, like a 20,000-square-foot public plaza, four Cinema screens as part of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, a branch of the Brooklyn Public Library and a cultural space for 651 ARTS and the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts. But groceries come first.

"We believe our fresh new format will be a perfect fit for the Brooklyn community," said Jeff Turnas, the guy behind 365 by Whole Foods Market.
Regina Myer, President of Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, called the store "a great fit for Downtown Brooklyn" because it offered "accessible food options in an innovative environment."
