Hungry Ghost Coffee Shop Coming To Fort Greene This Fall

The fifth Hungry Ghost outpost is slated to open at 80 DeKalb Ave. in October, owners announced Thursday.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — A new outpost of the Brooklyn-based coffee chain Hungry Ghost is coming to Fort Greene this fall, owners announced Thursday.

The new Hungry Ghost coffee bar is expected to open 80 DeKalb Ave in October, according to an official statement.

The 420-square foot ground floor space is situated within walking distance of Fort Greene Park and across the street from Long Island University, and will serve up Stumptown coffee, espresso and cold brews as well as fresh baked goods.

Owner Murat Uyaroglu opened the first Hungry Ghost outpost in Prospect Heights in 2012 and has since expanded into Fort Greene — at 781 Fulton Street — and across the East River into Manhattan, near NYU, according to the cafe website.

The Dekalb Avenue Hungry Ghost will be its fifth outpost and construction is expected to begin this summer.
