Jimmy Kimmel Is Coming Back To Brooklyn For Week Of Shows At BAM

Bernie Sanders, Bruce Springstein and other East Coast celebs will stop by the late-night talk show as it records from BAM next week.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — One of the leading late-night talk show hosts is headed to Brooklyn for a week of shows complete with an East Coast celebrity line-up.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live!," the ABC host's show that usually films in Los Angeles, will set up shop in the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Howard Gilman Opera House starting Oct. 21, according to Deadline.

The week of shows will include guests known for their roots in the tri-state area, including Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys and Sen. Bernie Sanders, who will be returning to the 2020 presidential campaign trail with a stop in Queens this weekend.

Guests will also include Eddie Murphy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kelly Ripa, Ellie Kemper and John Krasinski, Deadline reported. Musical performances will be left up to Keys, David Byrne, The National, Paul Shaffer and the rap group Sugarhill Gang.

This is also not the first time Kimmel has packed his bags to broadcast out of the borough.

Kimmel also stopped by BAM in 2017 around the same time of the year and has traveled to Brooklyn three times before that.

This year's BAM run comes just days after the organization finished a $25 million renovation of its space in Fort Greene, though the upgrade didn't include the opera house where Kimmel will be filming.

The renovation, called BAM Strong, connected three sites —BAM Harvey Theater, a vacant space at 653 Fulton Street and the ground-floor of 230 Ashland Place — to make the organization's venue more accessible and open its dedicated first visual arts gallery. BAM Strong's grand opening was celebrated on Tuesday.
