June 4-5: A Whole Lot Of Traffic

More cars, more congestion anticipated from planned Whole Foods location.

Good morning, Fort Greene-Clinton Hill! In order to get a jump on what promises to be a beautiful Saturday, here are your 5 Things You Need To Know This Weekend:

1. Planned Whole Foods in Gowanus will likely mean . A study commissioned by the high-end grocer giant anticipates a marked increase in congestion as a result of a new location slated for Third Street at Third Avenue. And providing more fodder for the bad news file: the store is scheduled to open in late 2012, roughly the same time as the still-rising Barclays Center. 

2. Also in the not-so-good news department: the New York Times has this report on questions emerging regarding the viability of Mayor Bloomberg's bike-share program — months before it's even scheduled to be rolled out.

3. After getting started in Billysburg Friday, the indie D.I.Y. rockers of Hillstock head to Clinton Hill's The Emerson in a series of gigs featuring the return of Ava Luna and Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! among others.
