FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — Spicy ice cream is coming to Fort Greene this summer.

Malai, an artisanal ice cream company that got its start at Smorgasburg, will open an ice cream counter in the Gotham Market at the Ashland at 590 Fulton St., organizers announced.

The Malai outpost will offer more than 15 aromatic flavors — such as rose with cinnamon roasted almonds, golden turmeric and palm sugar with tamarind caramel — in cones, cups, floats and pints.

The ice cream company is the brainchild of Pooja Bavishi, who first launched the business in 2015, and still makes all of Malai’s eggless ice creams by hand at Brooklyn FoodWorks in Bed-Stuy.
