UPDATE: Man Passes Out, Lands On Tracks at Lafayette Ave. Station

Middle-aged male taken from scene by ambulance at approximately 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to eyewitness.

Update, 11:34 a.m.: According to a spokesman for the New York Fire Department, the man transported from Lafayette Ave. station in Fort Greene Wednesday morning passed out and landed on the tracks.

The call came in at approximately 8:31 a.m. as a cardiac emergency, according to FDNY. The victim was transported to Kings County Hospital.

The spokesman couldn't confirm whether or not the man had been struck by a train.

An ambulance took an injured man to the hospital after an incident on the Manhattan-bound platform at the Lafayette Ave. C line station on Wednesday morning, according to an eyewitness.

Ben Gancsos, a photographer working from his apartment on Fulton Street, first heards sounds of fire officials responding to the scene at around 9 a.m.

"The ambulance happened to park right underneath my window," said Gancsos, who left his apartment to investigate.

According to Gancsos, a fire official at the scene said the man had been struck by a train—however, this could not be immediately confirmed.

Gancsos described the victim as a man in his 50s, with a portion of his shirt cut off by first responders.
