Manhole Fire Breaks Out On Lafayette Avenue In Fort Greene: FDNY
The manhole fire started at about 4:20 p.m. in front of Olea restaurant, 171 Lafayette Ave., on Friday, the FDNY said.

FORT GREENE, NY — A manhole fire broke out in front of a Lafayette Avenue eatery late Friday afternoon, a spokesman for the FDNY said.
The first started in front of Olea, at 171 Lafayette Ave. near Adelphi Street, at about 4:20 p.m., fire officials said. The FDNY responded shortly after and were checking for carbon dioxide issues, the spokesman said.
Residents on Twitter reported loud noises and billows of smoke pouring out of the street after the blaze.

A huge explosion just happened near my apartment, shook the building, and now there's smoke pouring out of a manhole where the G train runs. Lights in the apartment flickering. So that's... something.
