Notorious B.I.G. Autopsy Report Released 15 Years After Murder

A newly released autopsy report reveals that a rapper killed in one of L.A.'s most infamnous unsolved cases died from a fatal bullett wound to the abdomen and chest, according to NBC New York.

Clinton Hill native Christopher Wallace, best known as Notorious B.I.G., was shot and killed 15 years ago while sitting in the passenger seat of his cousin’s Chevy Suburban after a party at a Los Angeles car museum, the report revealed.

After leaving the Petersen Automotive Museum after midnight on March 9, 1997, Wallace was shot four times by someone in a black Chevrolet Impala SS, NBC noted.

Wallace died at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He was 24 years old.

He was shot in the abdomen, chest, left arm, back and thigh, but it was the bullet wound to the chest and abdomen that proved fatal, according to the autopsy report.

A toxicology report noted that no alcohol or drugs were found in his system. 

NBC noted that LAPD Cmdr. Andrew Smith would not comment on the reasons why the LAPD's security hold on the autopsy report was lifted more than 15 years after Wallace's death, citing the ongoing investigation.
