NYPD's Eyes In The Sky Land In Fort Greene
Cameras installed at four high-traffic locations in the neighborhood.
Watch out Fort Greene and Clinton Hill residents... the NYPD is watching.
With little fanfare, police installed cameras at four intersections throughout the neighborhood — from the commercial hub of Atlantic and Flatbush avenues to more residential areas like North Portland Avenue and Auburn Place.
The cameras, which were installed on May 17, record 30 days of activity, according to police.

The footage is only reviewed when a crime in the area has been reported, police said.
Nearly two weeks after it was put in place, passersby strolled under the camera at Myrtle Avenue and Washington Park on Tuesday afternoon without noticing — or caring to notice — that it was there.

For at least two younger Brooklyn residents already used to such high-profile privacy incidents involving the PlayStation 3 console in their living room or the iPhone 4 in their pocket, the addition of a few cameras on select street corners did not seem like such a big deal.
"It's inevitable. Wherever you are, they can find you," said Tomas Veszi, his smartphone in hand directly under the camera at Myrtle and Washington Park.
Near the camera at N. Portland and Auburn, Clinton Hiller Trent Wallace was similarly resigned.
"You can't go anywhere without being watched," Wallace said.
At Fort Greene Park, 50-year resident John Henry said he thought the cameras were a good way to reduce crime. Henry went even further, adding that he thought the police should install even more in other places throughout the neighborhood, such as the top of roofs.
"It's a damn shame that you have to put cameras in to look on people for them to act right," he said. "It's a damn shame."
Here's the complete list of the four locations where security cameras were installed by the NYPD May 17:
- Hanson Place and Ashland Place
- Flatbush Avenue and Atlantic Avenue
