Oct. 12: Jeffrey Eugenides At Greenlight Bookstore

Bestselling author to sign new book.

1. To mark the release of his new book, Marriage Plot, author Jeffrey Eugenides will be making an appearance at Greenlight Bookstore tonight at 7:30 p.m. In the meantime, fans can focus on the awesome power of Eugenides' "swoon-worthy" billboard in Times Square—that is, until they can get the real thing.

2. The "Mother of Hip Hop," Sylvia Robinson, was laid to rest in New Jersey yesterday. Robinson helped found rap groups like Sugarhill Gang, Funkmaster Flash and other hip hop pioneers. She passed away Sept. 29 at age 75.

3. Second Ave. Sagas weighs the pros and cons of a proposed Select Bus Line along Nostrand/Rogers Ave. The proposed service would be Brooklyn's first express bus line.
