Person Found Floating In Water Near Brooklyn Navy Yard: NYPD

Cops were called to the northwest Brooklyn waterfront at about 8 a.m., but couldn't confirm if the person was dead or alive an hour later.

BROOKLYN, NY — A person was found floating in the water near the Brooklyn Navy Yard Friday morning, police said.

Officers were called at about 8 a.m. to the report of a body floating in the northwest Brooklyn waterfront area and rushed to the scene, according to the NYPD.

As of an hour later, police still could not confirm if the person in the water was found dead or alive, a spokesperson said.

This isn't the first time that a person was found in the water off the Brooklyn Navy Yard: One man was found dead in the water in 2019, and another man's body was found in the area in 2014.
