Pizza Run In Fort Greene Park: Here's Everything You Need To Know

The Eighth Annual NYC Pizza Run will be held in Brooklyn for the first time in its history. Here are the cheesy deets.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — It’s not a good idea to run with scissors, or by the pool, or out of time. But running with pizza? That’s a great idea.

Which is why Fort Greene Park will be hosting the eighth annual New York City Pizza Run on Sept. 17, when runners will be tasked with completing a five-kilometer dash and eating two slices of pizza along the way.

Slices will come courtesy of Pizza by Certé and a post-race party will be hosted by the German beer garden Die Stammkneipe at 710 Fulton St.

This is the first time the saucy racers will undertake the approximately three-mile run in Brooklyn, it has been hosted in Manhattan for the past seven years, according to organizers.

Early Bird tickets are on sale for $45 until Aug. 31, when regular prices kick in at $60 per runner. For an extra $15, carbohydrate-loving sprinters can also register to run in the fifth annual cupcake run in Astoria Park.
