Burger Joint That Ditches Meat For Plants To Open In Fort Greene

Next Level Burger, which only serves plant-based burgers, will open its first location in the city at the end of the month.

FORT GREENE, NY — A chain of restaurants that ditches meat and uses plants for its burgers will open its first location in the city later this month in Fort Greene.

Next Level Burger plans to open up on Jan. 31 inside the upcoming Whole Foods Market 365 — the grocery chain's more affordable offshoot — at 300 Ashland Place to serve up entirely plant-based sandwiches, its owners said.

The menu includes a variety of burgers including one with tempeh bacon and homemade cheddar style-cheese. The spot also serves up dairy-free shakes made out of soy or coconut soft serve, according to its owners.
