Spike Lee Will Hold Open Casting Call in Brooklyn for His Upcoming Netflix Series

Here's your chance to score a role in the 10-episode Netflix reboot of "She's Gotta Have It."

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — Still reeling over the death of 63-year-old actor Bill Nunn, aka Radio Raheem from "Do The Right Thing"?

This should cheer you up: Netflix just commissioned a 10-episode TV remake of "She's Gotta Have It," the 1986 Spike Lee film about a Brooklyn-based 20-something balancing three flings with three very different types of men.

And you don't have to settle for simply binge-watching the series — you can be in it, too.

In a statement on the upcoming Netflix adaptation of "She's Gotta Have It," Lee remembered filming the original in just 12 days "way back in the back back of the hot summer of 1985 for a mere total of $175,000."

Now, he said, on the 30th anniversary of the film's release, "we are getting an opportunity to revisit these memorable characters who will still be relevant and avant-garde three decades later."

"We are hyped that Netflix is onboard with this vision," he said, "as Nola Darling, Mars Blackmon, Jamie Overstreet and Greer Childs DO DA DAMN THANG now, today in Da Republic of Brooklyn, New York."
