Teen Beaten With Stick at Underwood Park: This Week's Police Blotter
A rundown of the reported crimes in the 88th Precinct, which covers Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

Melee at Underwood Park
Eight teens are accused of beating and robbing a 14-year-old girl in a brutal attack that occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. last Thursday at Underwood Park in Clinton Hill. The teens stole the girl's gold chain and hat after beating her with a stick in the park's playground area. The ages of the arrested teens, who were collared shortly after the incident and charged with assault, range from 13 to 18.

Shoplifting Sexy
Three teenage girls are accused of stealing $1,040 in merchandise, including a pink t-shirt and a scoop-neck top, from the Victoria's Secret at Atlantic Terminal Mall last Thursday afternoon. The girls have been charged with grand larceny.

Nobody Going In, Nobody Going Out
A woman resisted arrest last Tuesday after police officers attempted to dislodge her from the front entrance of a building at Ingersoll Houses, where the woman prevented residents from going in or out. The woman attempted to hit the officers with a closed fist when they tried to handcuff her. A search of the woman later turned up an unknown quantity of marijuana.
Never Saw It Coming
An employee at , an auto body chop on Grand Avenue, was struck in the back of the head last Wednesday by a man after an argument over a vehicle parked in front of the business. According to the employee, the man, identified as Theadore Robinson, 30, hit him with a wrench while his back was turned. Robinson has been charged with assault.
Wedding Ring Snagged in Carlton Ave. Burglary
A homeowner on Carlton Avenue discovered a wedding ring and an unspecified amount of cash missing after hearing noises on the second floor of his residence late Saturday night. A witness living behind the house on Cumberland Street reported seeing a man, described as black, in his 30s with close-cut hair carrying a backpack, on the deck of the residence looking in through the rear kitchen door while the lights were on. According to the eyewitness, a couple minutes later the lights in the house went dark and the man had disappeared.
Armed and Dangerous
A 37-year-old man was robbed by two men just before 11 p.m. on July 3 while walking down the down the street in the vicinity of Myrtle Avenue and Saint Edwards in Fort Greene. The two men displayed a silver firearm and demanded the victim hand over an iPhone and iPod. Police made two arrests in connection with the incident, nabbing one suspect, a 21-year-old male, at 80 Monument Walk. The other suspect, a male teen, was arrested near the scene of the crime on Myrtle Avenue. Both have been charged with robbery.
Clinton Avenue Scare
A 28-year-old man was cornered in a Clinton Avenue apartment building vestibule just before midnight on July 4 by an unknown man who displayed a handgun and demanded money. After taking the man's iPad, iPhone, wallet and an unspecified amount of cash, the robber fled on foot in an unknown direction.
Fort Greene Houses Cellphone Grab
A woman walking through Fort Greene Houses last Tuesday evening was approached from behind by unknown persons and robbed of her Samsung Galaxy 4G cellphone. One assailant grabbed her arm causing severe pain while the other snatched her cell phone out of her hand. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.
Glass Bottle Attack
Last Tuesday, a man in his 30s walking on N. Portland Avenue toward Myrtle Avenue early in the morning was hit by a bottle by an unknown person. Another unknown suspect then approached the assailant and said, "Sean hit him." The first man then began to hit the victim again. During the attack, the victim dropped his phone onto the ground, after which one of the suspects picked it up and threw it. Victim reported injuries to his head and arm.
Target Employee Robbed at Work
On the morning of July 2, an employee at Target at Atlantic Terminal Mall left her purse under her desk. At the end of the workday, the employee discovered her purse missing, along with its contents including a monthly MetroCard, an iPod Touch and a debit card.
Business Owner Defrauded
The owner of Deep Roof Lighting in Fort Greene discovered last Wednesday that two Chase Bank checks totaling $4,619 had been fraudulently written to a "Salahud-Din Abdur-Rahim" of 2289 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. The owner said he did not know where the checks were deposited.
2008 Toyota Camry Stolen
A woman who parked her 2008 Toyota sedan in the vicinity of 181 Saint James Place last Wednesday turned the next day to find her vehicle missing. No broken glass was found at the scene.
Motorbike Rolled Away
A man who parked his motorbike on S. Elliott Place while he ran an errand at the DMV returned last Thursday afternoon to find bike missing. A witness reported seeing an unknown man wheeling the bike down the street and making several attempts to start the vehicle. Eventually, the suspect got the motorbike to start and drove away, the witness said.
