The Early Word: Employment & Entrepreneur Event at Bishop Loughlin
Fort Greene Association looks to help budding businessmen and women.

1. With the aim of helping the neighborhood rid itself of its vacant storefronts—like the —The Fort Greene Association will hold an Employment and Entrepreneurial event at on Feb. 27 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Participants will learn about the various services available to those looking to start their own businesses, as well as employment opportunities and training programs.
2. Todd Oldham will speak at 's Higgins Hall about design legend Alexander Girard on Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. as part of the school's Anna and Joseph Syrop Annual Lecture series. The event is free and open to the public.
3. Community Board 2's will meet at Long Island University-Brooklyn at 6 p.m.
