The Secret Sipper: Stewart's Root Beer at Smashburger
Savoring an upstate NY/New England treat in Fort Greene.

Without giving too much away, The Secret Sipper took his first steps, or shall we say, sips, in a (not-so) faraway place called upstate New York. It was there that the young sipper—provided he was a good boy that week—got the treat of going to the local Stewart's for an ice cream.
For the uninitiated, Stewart's is the upstate New York/New England/parts of New Jersey equivalent of 7-Eleven, but with one important difference: This place makes its own ice cream and bottles extremely addictive orange cream soda.
So it came as a pleasant surprise to find the second-best thing to Stewart's orange cream at in Fort Greene—the root beer, served in a chilled mug and gulped down lustily in between bites of SB's black bean burger.

Somehow the diet version of this very satisfying drink has zero calories (an amazing thing, science). However, for those looking for the original, that's on sale here too. Both cost $2.60 with tax.
