Bat-Wielding Maniac Beats Man at McDonald's: This Week's Police Blotter

Woman attacks man with bat at Mickey Ds
A 53-year-old man seated at the McDonald's on Flatbush Avenue Ext. on Feb. 17 at 4 a.m. found himself at the wrong end of a bat wielded by a 53-year-old woman demanding he leave the restaurant. The woman, identified by police as Sandra Charles, 53, slammed her bat on his table three times. She then struck the man on his right leg and right arm with the bat, which was not recovered by police. The victim received treatment at Brooklyn Hospital. Police arrested the woman a short time later at the scene.

Boy attacked, robbed at Auburn Family Shelter
On Feb. 18 at 4 p.m., a suspect grabbed a 13-year-old resident of Auburn Family Shelter and took him to a staircase where he began to choke his victim while wielding a razor blade. The perp then removed the boy's wallet and kicked his victim in the right leg. Police later arrested a 15-year-old suspect at the location and charged him with the incident.

Man beats woman for refusing to have sex
After refusing the advances of her boyfriend on Feb. 17 at her residence at 117 N. Oxford Walk, a 37-year-old woman received injuries to her face and neck at the hands of her irate boyfriend—who also broke the woman's phone and plate in the kitchen. Police arrested the boyfriend, Wilmy Acosta, 24, at the scene.
Items Stolen From Vehicle at Parking Garage
After parking his truck at a public parking facility at 1 Carlton Avenue and Atlantic Avenue, the owner returned on Feb. 15 at 9 a.m. to find $175 worth of items stolen. According to police, unknown person(s) clipped a lock on a truck to gain entry.
Man Returns From Work to Find Laptop Stolen
A resident of a Carlton Avenue apartment came home on Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. to discover his Toshiba laptop stolen. According to the victim, the laptop was left on the kitchen counter that morning, after which a dog walker gained entry to take care of his animal while he was at work. Police reported no signs of a break-in.
Girlfriend Steals Cash From Woman's Jacket Pocket
A 37-year-old woman said that her son's girlfriend "possibly" took $1,400 in cash from a jacket pocket at her residence in a building at Ingersoll Houses. The woman noticed the cash was missing when she went to pay for a furniture delivery on Feb. 9 at approximately 7:30 p.m. Police later arrested the girlfriend, 21.
Applebee's Waiter Steals Shift Earnings
After waiting tables on Feb. 14 at the Applebee's located at 395 Flatbush Avenue Ext., an employee failed to turn over shift earnings totaling $1,200. The restaurant called police after the waiter failed to show up for a scheduled shift the next day.
Attempted iPhone robbery
As a 32-year-old woman walked east on Lafayette Avenue at S. Portland Avenue on Feb. 15 at 7:40 p.m., an unknown perp approached her and asked her for the time. When the woman took out her iPhone, the perp tried to grab the device from her hand. The suspect then fled east on Lafayette Avenue.
Perp snatches wallet dropped from car
As he exited his parked vehicle on Myrtle Avenue on Feb. 17 at around 3 p.m., an elderly man dropped his wallet on the ground, which was almost immediately snatched up by an unknown male. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction.
Partygoer robbed
A 47-year-old woman at a party at Brooklyn Masonic Temple on Clermont Avenue in the early morning hours of Feb. 19 left her purse at her table only to find it missing as the celebration broke up at around 4 a.m.
Husband Steals Wife's Debit Card
A Fort Greene wife accused her husband of taking a Bank of America debit card from her dresser in their Whitman Houses residence without her permission on Feb. 19 at 1:40 p.m. The victim told police that her husband has no access to her account.
Car stolen from street parking space
An employee of EAN Holdings LLC reported the company's 2011 Ford E150 vehicle stolen from a street parking space on Park Avenue near St. Edwards Street on Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. No broken glass was found at the scene. According to police, the vehicle does not appear to have been towed by the city.
Woman's cellphone stolen at shelter
Two women—working in concert, according to police—took another woman's cellphone from a table in the lunchroom of Tillary Street Women’s Shelter on Feb. 16 at around 5:55 p.m. The incident was captured by video cameras at the location. Police arrested Lydia Harris, 19, on Feb. 18 in connection with the robbery. A second suspect is still at large.
Teens jump man for iPhone
As he returned from City Technical College on Feb. 17 at 9 p.m., a 27-year-old man battled with two 13-year-old suspects who demanded he turn over his iPhone in a public area at Fort Greene Houses. Police later arrested the teens. The man somehow lost the iPhone during the scuffle, police said.
