Two Gun-Related Incidents Near Pratt: This Week's Police Blotter
Surveillance footage under review for two robberies last week, which may involve the same suspect.

Man robbed at gunpoint on friend's stoop
A 35-year-old man told police that an unknown perp, described as a black male wearing a blue/black hoodie, showed off a silver handgun and robbed him and his friend as he sat on his friend's stoop on Washington Avenue on Dec. 28 at 2:15 a.m. After the victim turned over his iPhone and wallet, the robber fled southbound on Washington Avenue towards Greene Avenue. A Pratt security guard posted at 61 St. James Place saw the suspect flee the scene. Three cameras located in the front of the building may have observed the suspect.

As he walked home near the intersection of St. James Place and Lafayette Avenue on Dec. 28 at 2:40 a.m., a 28-year-old was robbed by unknown perp displaying a silver handgun, demanding the victim's cellphone and cash. The robber then fled westbound on Lafayette Avenue. Police later recovered the cellphone in a sewer grate located at the southwest corner of Washington and Lafayette avenues. A security at nearby Pratt said he saw the perp and that there were several cameras facing the street that could be used to identify the suspect.
Robbery on S. Elliott

On Dec. 26 at 3:20 p.m., an unknown perp approached a 23-year-old man on S. Elliot Place and threw him down on the ground, saying, "I'm going to rob you. I'm going to take everything you got." The robber attempted to reached into the victim's pants pocket while brandishing a box cutter. The man fought off his attacker and ran into a residence on S. Elliott, after which the robber fled northbound down the street.
A shadow tips man off on robbery
While walking westbound on Greene Avenue on Dec. 27 at 5:17 a.m., a man noticed a shadow behind him, turning around to face a robber with a silver handgun. The robber, who was wearing a black coat, told the victim to "Give me everything, money, money, money." The victim turned over a bag along with $60 and his cellphone to the robber.
Beats By Dr Dre headphones stolen
As he exited the turnstiles at Nevins Street subway station, a 19-year-old male was approached by an unknown perp who asked him if he smoked marijuana. When the teen said, "No," the perp then came from behind and moved quickly in front of the victim as he climbed the stairs, asking him if he had ever "jumped" his cousin. The victim denied this, at which time the perp told the teen to "Lose those headphones," placing his hand in his waistband as if he had a gun. The robber then took the teen's Beats By Dr Dre headphones, while another perp reached into the victim's left side jacket pocket and took his cellphone. The first perp then told the teen, "Don't call the cops or I will shoot you" and lifted up his jacket to show his victim the handle of a gun. Both suspects then ran down the stairs and fled in an unknown direction.
Purse snatched on Irving Place
After walking home from Franklin Avenue and Fulton Street on Dec. 31 at 4:30 a.m., a 28-year-old woman was pushed to the ground and had her purse snatched in front of her Irving Place residence. The victim later found her purse containing all items except for $150 in cash.
Cellphone stolen while exiting B38 bus
As she got off a B38 bus at Vanderbilt and Lafayette avenues on Dec. 31 at 5 p.m., an unknown perp grabbed the woman from behind, taking her iPhone 4S. The last location of the phone, tracked by the "Find iPhone" app, was Macon Street and Nostrand Avenue.
Officer attacked by straphanger trying to beat fare
Police arrested a man identified as Vladimir Savain, 32, for punching an officer in the face after he attempted to make an arrest for blocking a subway turnstile and "creating an unsanitary condition" by spitting at Flatbush Avenue and Fulton Street on Dec. 27 at 11:01 a.m. The arrest was made a member of Police Transit District 30. The officer received injuries to the face and right eye, as well as to the left knee.
Bottle used as weapon in fast food fracas
A woman told police that she was hit over the head with a bottle by an unknown perp at Crown Fried Chicken on Fulton Street on Dec. 29 at 11:30 a.m. The victim was sent to Brooklyn Hospital for treatment.
Fight ends with injury at woman's shelter
After a verbal dispute at Tillary Street Women's Shelter, a 47-year-old female ended up with injuries to the back, chest and right ear caused by her own crutch. A suspect, a 32-year-old female, was arrested at the scene.
Water meter swiped from vacant building
A man who bought 434 Vanderbilt Ave. on July 14 reported the building's water meter stolen after the city Department of Environmental Protection attempted to read the device, which was worth $1,000.
Time Warner Cable employee robbed
A Time Warner Cable worker who parked his truck on Dekalb Avenue on Dec. 30 at 12:40 p.m. returned several hours later to find his Dell Latitude laptop stolen from the vehicle.
Two men accused of duping bank with bad checks
A representative at the recently opened Citibank branch at Atlantic Terminal reported on Dec. 27 that two men, identified as Kenny Jean, 25, and Steven Hines, 40, fraudulently deposited two checks and proceeded to withdraw cash from their Citi accounts. The check written totaled $9,781. The men were later arrested.
Woman's bank info stolen
A total of $1156.47 in transactions was made using a Clinton Hill woman's TD Bank card between Dec. 14 and Dec. 20. The woman told police that at the time of the transaction, she had her bankcard on her person.
Property stolen from Navy Yard
After leaving her bag unattended at a commercial building located at 63 Flushing Ave. on Dec. 30 at 1:30 p.m., a woman returned to find her credit cards, MetroCard, blank checks, earrings and an unspecified amount of cash stolen.
Car stolen from Carlton Avenue
On Dec. 31 after midnight, a man parked his 2007 Toyota Camry with New York plates on Carlton Avenue. Upon his return at 5 a.m., the man discovered the car missing. There was no broken glass at the scene.
