WATCH: Brooklyn Driver Plows Into Traffic Cop, Flees Scene
Police are hunting for a red or burgundy VW Passat with passenger-side mirror damage.
A reckless driver barreling north on Washington Avenue last Friday night hit a traffic agent who was standing next to his marked police vehicle, according to the NYPD — then kept right on driving.
The hit-and-run occurred on Oct. 23 around 10:45 p.m. near Washington and Myrtle avenues in Clinton Hill, police said.

“An on-duty 30-year-old male traffic agent was walking to his marked police vehicle when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling northbound on Washington Avenue,” the NYPD said in a statement. “The vehicle struck the traffic agent causing him to fall to the ground and the vehicle fled the scene. The victim was removed to Methodist Hospital in stable condition.”
A video of the crash (included above) shows the hit-and-run driver plowing into the traffic cop, causing him to tumble over the hood of the car.

Police are now on the lookout for a red or burgundy Volkswagen Passat with passenger-side mirror damage.
