WATCH: Brooklyn Woman Gets Off Subway, Gives Birth on Sidewalk

New life at the Clark Street station in Brooklyn Heights.

The September stoop baby of Sunset Park met his match on Sunday evening: the September sidewalk baby of Brooklyn Heights.

The healthy baby boy was reportedly delivered onto a piece of cardboard on the sidewalk outside the Clark Street subway station in Brooklyn Heights.

Witnesses told the New York Daily News that the baby’s mother had just exited the station when she went into labor.

EMTs and cops found the woman sprawled on a piece of cardboard outside the subway station at Clark and Henry Sts. at 5:30 p.m., witnesses said. “She was crying ‘Come here, my baby’s coming,’ ” said Iqbal Shahid, 55, who works at a store nearby.

An EMT delivered the infant as a crowd gathered.

“He actually opened his eyes, he was looking around,” said an emergency responder. “He was big. He looked good.”

“I was completely shocked myself by it,” another witness, Millie Younger, told ABC7. “And the baby was so beautiful, I said my goodness, what a privilege, seeing the baby being born.”

Both mother and child were reportedly in good shape after the street birthing, but were transported to a nearby hospital, just to be safe.
