With Latest Helicopter Crash, Do You Feel Safe?

Questions emerge over the increasingly crowded skies of Brooklyn.

For some they are nuisance. For others, they are an unavoidable part of life in one of the most-visited and photographed cities in the U.S.

Whatever one's view of the helicopters that criss-cross over Brooklyn on a daily basis, there was much about today's fatal accident in the East River to give pause.

City officials reported one death and three serious injuries as a result of the crash, which took place at 3:24 p.m. off E. 34th Street in Manhattan as the aircraft attempted to return to the helipad shortly after liftoff.
