2 People Hurt In Nassau House Fire Thursday: Police

A man was taken to a local hospital for treatment, Nassau police say.

BALDWIN, NY — A man and a woman were injured in a fire that broke out in a Baldwin home on Thursday morning, Nassau police said.

First responders were called to the Ardmore Road home at around 8:30 a.m., and upon arrival, saw heavy smoke coming from the home, police said, adding that the Baldwin Fire Department extinguished the flames.

The man and woman suffered smoke inhalation, according to police.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the woman refused medical attention, police said.

An investigation by Arson/Bomb Squad detectives is ongoing, according to police.
