Body Found In LI Trash Container 43 Years Ago Is Identified: Police

The victim was 15 years old at the time of her disappearance, police say.

FREEPORT, NY — Police have released new details about a homicide in Freeport 43 years ago. Freeport police officers found a human body in a trash container on November 4, 1982, authorities said.

The cold case victim has now been identified using investigative genealogy as Susan Mann, of Hollis, Queens, police said. She was 15 years old at the time of her disappearance.

The investigation is ongoing.
