Woman Critically Injured After Pick-Up Truck Strikes Her Crossing Nassau Street: Police

FREEPORT, NY — A female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Wednesday afternoon in Freeport, police said.

The 54-year-old victim was crossing Mill Road at the intersection of Buffalo Street when she was hit by a 2005 Dodge Ram pick-up truck, driven by an 82-year-old man, authorities said.

As a result of the collision, the woman suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. She is currently listed in critical condition, police said.

The driver remained at the scene. There were no other injuries.

Police are investigating.
