GARDEN CITY, NY — Adelphi University announced today that it will be making coronavirus vaccinations required for students to attend classes on-campus in the upcoming fall semester. Previously, the college had just strongly encouraged vaccination.

Students will have to give proof of their vaccination status to the school by Aug. 11. Those who have received one dose of the vaccine but won't get the second until after Aug. 11 can apply for a temporary waiver.

Students who have medical or religious objections can submit a request for exemption. Anyone granted an exception will have to adhere to health guidelines, like wearing masks, and undergo regular testing.
