GARDEN CITY, NY — On Nov. 10, Adelphi University will host an evening with best-selling author Nelson DeMille. He will discuss and sign his new book, "The Maze," which brings back DeMille's detective John Corey, and is based on the unsolved Gilgo Beach murders. The event is free and open to the public.

DeMille is known for his action-adventure, thriller and suspense novels. His novels "Plum Island" and "The Gold Coast" take place in Nassau and Suffolk counties and feature locales Long Islanders will recognize.

Inspired by the still-unsolved Gilgo Beach murders, "The Maze" takes the reader on a dangerous hunt for an apparent serial killer who has murdered nine — and maybe more — women and hidden their bodies in the thick undergrowth on a lonely stretch of beach.
