Chateau Briand, a popular wedding venue for many on Long Island, will close its doors on Dec. 31.

CARLE PLACE, NY — Chateau Briand has been a popular destination for weddings and celebrations for many Long Islanders for decades. But after 50 years, the popular catering hall is closing at the end of the year.
In filings with the state, The Scotto Brothers — which owns Chateau Briand and many other properties like it — announced that the catering hall would be closing at the end of the year, on Dec. 31. This will lead to 112 people being laid off.
The filing states that the reason for the closing is economic.
