Cops: Elderly Woman Struck by Motorcycle on Hempstead Turnpike
Woman was struck early Wednesday morning in Elmont, police said.

An elderly woman was struck by a motorcycle early Wednesday morning in Elmont, according to Nassau County Police.
At 5:04 a.m., the 71-year-old victim was crossing Hempstead Turnpike east of Meacham Avenue when she was struck, police said. The 57-year-old driver of the motorcycle, a 2003 Harley Davidson, was heading west as the woman crossed to the south side of the street, cops said.
Both the driver and victim were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries. The woman suffered a serious leg injury while the driver reportedly had non-life threatening internal injuries, cops said.

No criminality is suspected in the collision, police said.
The motorcycle was impounded for safety tests.
