Man Arrested After Multiple Grand Larcenies Across LI, Released Into ICE Custody: Police
The 46-year-old was accused of removing money and items from people's cars while they were at a bank, police say.
GARDEN CITY, NY — A College Point man was arrested on Tuesday morning after multiple grand larcenies that occurred in Nassau County, and was released into the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, police said.
Nassau County police said Fabio Diaz Sierra, 46, was arrested at 9:10 a.m. on Tuesday for his possible involvement in the following incidents, police said.
Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025 – A man withdrew money from Chase Bank on Jericho Turnpike in Garden City and walked back to his car on Atlantic Avenue, police said. When he got to his car, the money was not in the center console anymore, NCPD said.

Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025 – A man withdrew money from TD Bank on Jericho Turnpike in Mineola and walked back to his car in a parking lot on Jericho Turnpike in Garden City Park, NCPD said. When he returned to his car, he noticed the front passenger window had been broken and the money was removed, police said.
Friday, Nov. 21, 2025 – A man withdrew money from Chase Bank on Jericho Turnpike in Garden City Park, and walked back to his car parked on Franklin Avenue in Garden City, NCPD said. When he returned to his car, the passenger window was broken, the money was removed, and other items had been removed as well, police said.

According to police, Fabio Diaz Sierra was charged with three counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and two counts of third-degree criminal mischief. He was released on an appearance ticket and released into the custody of ICE, police said.
