Garden City Getting Millions From State For Water System Improvements
The village is getting more than $5 million to improve its treatment plant to remove emerging contaminants.
GARDEN CITY, NY — The Village of Garden City is receiving millions of dollars in state grants to improve its water infrastructure.
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the grant last week. It's part of more than $40 million being dispersed around the state.
"Communities need financial support to help them undertake critical water infrastructure improvement projects, and that's why I prioritized a $500 million investment in clean water infrastructure in my executive budget," Hochul said. "The funding announced today will help municipalities modernize their drinking water and wastewater infrastructure and improve water quality and public health in their communities."
