Hit-And-Run Leaves Nassau Man In Critical Condition

Police say he was driving an ATV when he was hit by a car, which then fled the scene.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — A man is in critical condition following a hit-and-run in Hempstead Saturday night.

According to police, a 31-year-old man from Valley Stream was riding an ATV at the intersection of Peninsula Boulevard and South Franklin Street at 8:53 p.m. when they were struck. Police believe they were hit by a newer model, dark-colored Nissan sedan.

The car fled north on South Franklin Street. The man was taken to a hospital and is listed in critical condition.
