Hit-And-Run Leaves Nassau Man In Critical Condition
The man was crossing a street in Hempstead when he was hit by a Jeep, Nassau police said.
HEMPSTEAD, NY — Nassau County police are seeking information on a second hit-and-run that occurred in Hempstead on July 10.
According to police, a man was crossing North Franklin Avenue near Jackson Street at 9:49 p.m. when he was hit by a black Jeep. The driver of the Jeep fled in an unknown direction.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

Earlier that same night, a 31-year-old man driving an ATV was hit at the intersection of Peninsula Boulevard and South Franklin Street. Police are looking for a dark blue, older model Nissan Altima in connection with that incident. The man who was hit has since died of his injuries, police said.
