For the first time, Service Week included an inaugural program to meet and work with residents of the Shinnecock Indian Nation in Southampton. The visit to the Shinnecock was complemented by two other service programs: the Mary Brennan Soup Kitchen in Hempstead and the New York Marine Rescue Center in Riverhead. Many students participated in more than one program.

Hofstra's Service Week is an example of the University's dedication to community engagement.
