Man Attempted To Use Counterfeit Cash At Nassau Store: Police

Counterfeit currency and a purple liquid substance believed to be codeine were found in Jourdan Clark's pocket, police said

WESTBURY, NY — An East Garden City man was arrested for attempting to use counterfeit bills to pay for merchandise at Best Buy in Westbury, police said.

Jourdan Clark, 25, was taken into custody after an investigation into Sunday's incident, authorities said.

Counterfeit currency was being located in Clark's pocket, along with a purple liquid substance believed to be codeine, police said.

Clark is charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, fourth-degree attempted grand larceny and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.

He was arraigned on Monday.
